However, late-breaker abstract submission is possible from February 5 to February 15!

Late breaker abstract eligibility

Late breaker abstracts may be eligible for both oral and poster presentation at the conference. To be eligible, the abstract must fulfil all the following criteria:

1. Report on vector-borne diseases transmitted by ticks and not on the ticks themselves (Epidemiology of Tick-Borne Diseases, Prevention & Vaccination, Medical Management of Tick-Borne Diseases, Diagnostic Tests for Tick-Borne Diseases), surprising findings.

2. Report data or information that was unavailable before the deadline for submission in the general call for abstracts for ETBD (January 16, 2025).

3. Has not been published before.

Abstracts submitted for the regular program, but were rejected, are not eligible for consideration as late breaker abstracts, unless they were rejected because critical data were not yet available.

Late breaker abstract selection and presentations

Late breaker abstracts should be submitted through the ETBD abstract submission platform accessible below, from 5 to 15 February 2025. After submissions close, the late breaker abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and selected for the programme. The results of the review process will be communicated to authors by email from the address etbd-conference@overcome.eu. 

Following the selection process, presenters of accepted late breaker abstracts will be able to register to attend the conference in person. Poster presenters are required to attend the conference in person, as remote poster presentations are not possible.
