Organizing Committee

The ETBD conference is organized by:

  • ESGBOR: The European Study Group for Tick-Borne Diseases (ESGBOR) is a dedicated working group within the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID). ESGBOR plays a crucial role in managing tick-borne diseases, including Lyme borreliosis, by uniting European experts to provide guidance to healthcare professionals, leaders, and stakeholders. The group reviews diagnostic and treatment guidelines, publishes position statements to uphold high standards of care, and promotes knowledge exchange through research initiatives and thematic meetings.

  • CRMVT: The Reference Centers for Tick-Borne Diseases (CRMVT) are multidisciplinary care units dedicated to the management of tick-borne diseases, particularly Lyme disease. Their main missions include providing expert care and consultation for complex cases, fostering communication among healthcare networks, and advancing knowledge through research and teaching.

  • CNR Borrelia The National Reference Center for Borrelia (CNR Borrelia) provides microbiological expertise, in particular by developing new diagnostic tools to improve the diagnosis of Lyme borreliosis.  The CNR Borrelia also collaborates with expert structures in entomology (ticks) and animal health (wildlife) to characterize Borrelia ecology, and contributes to epidemiological surveillance with public health structures in France and in Europe. The CNR Borrelia reports any unusual events (increase in number of cases, unusual clinical manifestation etc.).
